
Commissioner General of Elections Saman Sri Ratnayake has officially retired from his post and from state service, effective yesterday (13th).
In a statement announcing his retirement, Ratnayake said he was stepping down after 34 years of service in the public sector.
Appointed as Commissioner General of Elections on October 16, 2019, he played a key role in organizing and overseeing several national and local elections during his tenure.
In his farewell message, Ratnayake extended his appreciation to former and current Presidential Secretaries, state officials, ministers, Parliamentarians, and media personnel for their cooperation and support throughout his career.
