The Sri Lanka Police has announced special security arrangements for churches during Easter Sunday observances.
Religious services are scheduled to take place on Friday 18th of and Sunday, 20th of April
Acting IGP Priyantha Weerasooriya has directed that enhanced police security be provided for the safety of worshippers.
Police have been instructed to identify churches that attract large gatherings and strengthen security in those areas.
Personnel from the Police, Special Task Force (STF), and tri-forces will be deployed to ensure public safety during Easter celebrations.
