President Anura Kumara Dissanayake told Parliament today that although evidence related to the Easter Sunday attacks has been destroyed, the government remains determined to uncover the truth behind the tragedy.
He said that pages had been torn out of key reports but noted that the government has already begun gathering fresh evidence. “We will uncover the truth despite the destruction of evidence,” the President assured.
Defending the CID, the President said CID Chief Shani Abeysekera and Public Security Ministry Secretary Ravi Seneviratne were working tirelessly to reveal the truth behind the attacks. “They will reveal the truth before long,” he added.
