Dunith Wellalage rejoins SL squad ahead of super 4 clash today...

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) confirmed that all-rounder Dunith Wellalage will rejoin the national squad in the UAE today(20th) after attending the funeral of his late father.

He will be available for selection as Sri Lanka takes on Bangladesh in their Asia Cup 2025 Super Four opener, the SLC announced.

Wellalage’s father, Suranga Wellalage, a former cricketer, passed away on Thursday at the age of 54, reportedly due to a sudden heart attack.

The tragic loss came on the same day Dunith played for Sri Lanka in their Asia Cup Group B match against Afghanistan in Abu Dhabi.

Following the news, Wellalage returned to Sri Lanka yesterday morning (19th) to be with his grieving family before flying back to rejoin the team.
