Sri Lankan weightlifter Dilanka Isuru Kumara won the bronze medal in the men’s 60kg senior category at the Commonwealth Weightlifting Championship held in India.
Competing in the senior event, Dilanka successfully lifted 111kg in the snatch and 138kg in the clean and jerk, achieving a total of 249kg to secure third place.
Fellow Sri Lankan Nipun Shehara also earned a bronze medal in the boys’ 60kg youth category. He lifted 95kg in the snatch and 115kg in the clean and jerk, totaling 210kg, marking an impressive performance in the youth division.
