Deputy Minister Mahinda Jayasinghe today (6) cautioned opposition politicians, including Wimal Weerawansa and Udaya Gammanpila, stating that they should be prepared to face investigations if they continue to make irresponsible remarks.
“Wimal Weerawansa, Gammanpila, and the opposition believe this government operates like the previous ones. They can no longer speak recklessly. If they continue to do so, they must be ready to face inquiries into their statements,” Jayasinghe said.
He made these remarks in response to a question regarding Wimal Weerawansa being summoned to record a statement.
“Gammanpila has been making baseless comments for a long time, and Wimal Weerawansa has followed the same pattern. We must tell all politicians who make such statements to be ready to face investigations, supported by evidence,” the Deputy Minister added.
