
The Agricultural & Agrarian Insurance Board (AAIB) has reported that 273,000 acres of paddy lands were affected by the recent floods.
AAIB Chairman Premasiri Jaasinghe Arachchi stated that 153,000 farmers across 20 districts have been impacted by the damage.
He highlighted several ways for individuals to report crop losses, including through the hotline 1918.
He added that the process to activate the compensation scheme for crop damage caused by Cyclone Ditwah has already begun.
