Customs earns record Rs. 1.5T revenue in 2024

Sri Lanka Customs has recorded an all-time high revenue of over Rs. 1.5 trillion in 2024.

Customs Media Spokesperson Seevali Arukgoda announced that the department generated Rs. 1.515 trillion, the highest annual revenue in its history.

While the government set an ambitious target of Rs. 1.533 trillion for the year, Customs came remarkably close to achieving it.

This milestone is attributed to the government’s tax policies, increased import volumes, and improved tax collection processes implemented by Customs management.

The achievement underscores the efficiency and effectiveness of the Customs department in supporting the nation’s fiscal objectives.
