Colombo stock market capitalization surpasses Rs. 8 trillion for first time

The total market capitalization of the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) surpassed the Rs. 8 trillion mark for the first time in history today, reflecting an impressive year-to-date (YTD) growth of 40.48%.

At the close of trading, the All Share Price Index (ASPI) — Sri Lanka’s benchmark index — reached a new all-time high of 22,372.57 points, marking an increase of 51.49 points or 0.23% from the previous day.

Meanwhile, the S&P SL20 Index, which tracks the performance of the 20 largest and most liquid stocks, also posted gains of 18.15 points or 0.29%, closing at 6,225.52 points.
