Coles is set to move hundreds of Australian corporate jobs offshore to India under an expanded partnership with Accenture.
The roles reportedly include positions in finance, technology, human resources, marketing and other support functions.
Reports suggest the number of affected jobs could reach more than 1,000, although Coles has not confirmed a final figure.
The supermarket giant says the partnership will help strengthen its digital capabilities, improve efficiency and deliver better services to customers.
Coles has around 5,000 corporate office roles, while its supermarket, liquor and distribution operations are not expected to be directly affected.
The move has sparked criticism from unions, amid growing concerns over Australian jobs being shifted offshore as major companies look to cut costs.
