A clash between two student groups at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Ruhuna, left six students injured and hospitalized, while police arrested 20 students in connection with the incident.
The altercation occurred on Monday within the university premises, prompting authorities to intervene and restore order. The injured students were admitted to hospital for treatment.
Following the incident, the university administration instructed all second- and third-year students to vacate the faculty premises immediately as a precautionary measure.
Police investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the clash and identify those responsible.
