Churches across Sri Lanka observed a solemn silence at 8:45 a.m. today (21), as bells rang in unison to honour the victims of the 2019 Easter Sunday attacks.
The nationwide commemoration was held as part of special religious programmes conducted in churches across the country in remembrance of those who lost their lives.
At Kochchikade Church in Colombo, one of the sites targeted in the attacks, religious leaders and dignitaries attended a special mass and lit candles in tribute to the victims.
Today marks seven years since the 2019 Easter Sunday bombings in Sri Lanka, where at least 250 people were killed in coordinated suicide attacks on churches and hotels.
