Child trapped between rocks in NSW rescued

A tragic incident unfolded on the New South Wales north coast, where a nine-year-old boy died after falling between rocks at The Rocks Beach.

Emergency services were called to the scene around 3 p.m. yesterday and managed to pull the child out, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The boy’s death adds to a string of recent tragedies, with police confirming that six people have died in drownings across Australia over the Easter weekend, and one person remains missing.

Earlier that same day, a fisherman died and a young man was hospitalized after being swept out to sea in Sydney’s south.

The child’s death marks the sixth drowning reported on Easter Sunday. Lifeguards also reported that 50 people were rescued in New South Wales alone that day, with nearly 100 more lives saved since Good Friday, highlighting the high-risk conditions during the holiday weekend.
