The recently discovered chemical stock buried in Middeniya Thorayaya has been confirmed to be used in the production of methamphetamine (ICE), authorities said.
The National Dangerous Drugs Control Board revealed this in its report, which was submitted to the Western Province North Crimes Division last Friday.
The Board also stated that chemical stocks found in the Netolpitiya and Kandana areas are still under examination, with reports expected to be submitted to the Division next week.
The Middeniya stock was discovered on September 5 during the interrogation of organized criminal ‘Backhoe Saman,’ who is currently in custody.
Further investigations have since led to the discovery of similar chemical stocks in the Netolpitiya and Kandana areas.
