Adelaide billionaire Charlie Shahin has purchased three major sheep stations from Jumbuck Pastoral in South Australia’s far north-west, creating one of the largest sheep farming operations in the world.

The deal includes Commonwealth Hill, Mobella, and Bulgunnia stations, covering nearly 1.3 million hectares, with the capacity to run more than 83,000 sheep.

While the sale price has not been disclosed, the properties were considered one of Australia’s most significant sheep and wool production assets.

Shahin said his family plans to continue operating the stations as sheep enterprises and invest in their long-term productivity, following the sale of the family’s former OTR service station business.
