US right-wing activist and commentator Charlie Kirk, a prominent ally of President Donald Trump, was fatally shot in the neck on Wednesday (10th of September ) during an event at a Utah university. The state’s governor condemned the killing, describing it as a political assassination.
Uncertainty surrounded the status of the suspect. FBI Director Kash Patel stated in a social media post at 6:20 p.m. ET (6:20 a.m. Singapore time) that the “subject” in the case was in custody. However, minutes later, Utah Department of Public Safety Commissioner Beau Mason told reporters at a press conference—also attended by an FBI agent—that the suspect was still at large.
