The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) Technical Engineers and Superintendents Association has announced plans to stage a protest on Tuesday 22nd of July.
According to Association Vice President Nandana Udayakumara, the demonstration is intended to voice the collective opposition of CEB employees to the proposed Electricity Amendment Bill.
He claimed the bill poses a threat of unfair treatment to both the institution and its workers, and warned that if their concerns remain unaddressed, more serious trade union action may follow.
