Colombo Archbishop, His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith, has expressed hope that justice will be served for the Easter Sunday attacks before their sixth anniversary.
Speaking at a public communication forum at the Archbishop’s House in Colombo today (15), he warned that failure to ensure justice would force them to protest.
Cardinal Ranjith criticized the government for failing to fulfill its promises regarding the attacks. He stated that while they initially supported bringing this administration to power to reform the system, continued inaction would make them reconsider their stance.
He urged the government to honor the President’s promise at Katuwapitiya Church, emphasizing that if a fair response is given before the anniversary, it will be appreciated. Otherwise, he warned, they would have no choice but to take to the streets again.
