Cancer Council has recalled its Clear Zinc Kids SPF50+ sunscreen due to a separation issue that can result in inadequate sun protection.
The sunscreen’s ingredients are separating, creating an uneven texture that may affect the SPF and prevent proper skin protection.
The recall affects three batches of the 110g bottle: batch 1143730 (expiry August 2027), batch 1141313 (expiry June 2027), and batch 1146857 (expiry November 2026).
Consumers who purchased the affected sunscreen are advised not to use it and to return it to the place of purchase.
The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) confirmed that this recall is unrelated to its investigation into sunscreen SPF levels, which began after testing showed that Ultra Violette’s Lean Screen SPF50+ sunscreen had inconsistent SPF readings, with some as low as four.
Twenty-one other sunscreens from popular brands, including Naked Sundays, Aspect Sun, and McoBeauty, which used the same base formula, were also recalled.
