The Victorian opposition is once again urging the state government to urgently pass laws banning sharp weapons following a recent attack in Melbourne.
Prime Minister Jacinta Allen had previously stated that Victoria would become the first state in Australia to introduce a gun ban.
However, reports indicate that the new laws will not take effect until September 1st, with a grace period running until November 30th.
In light of these delays, the opposition is calling for immediate action to tighten laws concerning sharp weapons in the state.
