The Cabinet has approved a four-year contract with Lufthansa Technik (LHT) in Hamburg for the repair and maintenance of CFM56-5B engines used in SriLankan Airlines’ Airbus A320 aircraft.
The contract was awarded after a competitive bidding process that attracted seven bidders.
Following recommendations from the Technical Evaluation Committee and the Standing Procurement Committee, the President, acting as Minister of Finance, Planning, and Economic Development, presented the proposal.
Lufthansa Technik was selected as the lowest responsive bidder for engine repairs, maintenance, and overhaul operations.
