Cabinet approves E-8 visa jobs for Sri Lankans via SLBFE

The Cabinet has approved employment opportunities for Sri Lankans under South Korea’s E-8 visa category, with recruitment exclusively managed by the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE).

SLBFE Chairman Koshala Wickramasinghe emphasized that no individual or private agency is authorized to offer E-8 visa jobs and warned the public against paying intermediaries.

All recruitment will be carried out directly through the Bureau.

During an event where air tickets were presented to Sri Lankans securing E-9 visa jobs, Wickramasinghe clarified that the E-8 visa is intended for individuals with agricultural expertise.

Only qualified candidates will be selected through the SLBFE, ensuring a transparent and regulated process.

He further stated, “We will not allow third-party agencies to exploit job seekers by charging high fees. The SLBFE will oversee recruitment at minimal costs.”

To ensure fairness, the Bureau will soon announce recruitment guidelines and qualifications through media channels, providing equal access to job opportunities.
