A British woman arriving from Bangkok, Thailand, was arrested at Bandaranaike International Airport after Sri Lanka Customs seized 46 kilograms of Kush cannabis from her luggage.
The narcotics were uncovered during a special raid by the Narcotics Control Unit of Sri Lanka Customs this afternoon (12th), as the suspect attempted to clear Customs.
Officials said the seized cannabis carries an estimated street value of Rs. 460 million, marking one of the largest Kush cannabis detections in recent times.
The woman and the contraband have been handed over to the Police Narcotics Bureau for further investigation.
