Breast cancer cases rise in Australia, death rate declines

A new study has revealed that while the breast cancer death rate in Australia has decreased, the number of breast cancer cases remains high in both Australia and New Zealand.

The research, conducted by the University of Sydney, the University of Queensland, and Alberta Health Services in Canada, analyzed global breast cancer incidence and death rates across 185 countries.

According to the National Cancer Foundation, one in seven women and one in 556 men in Australia are at risk of developing breast cancer.

On average, nearly 58 new cases are diagnosed every day in the country.

Globally, one in twenty women is diagnosed with breast cancer, and one in seventy men dies from the disease.
