Boxing Day breaks record for Highest sales

Australians are expected to set a new record for purchases this Boxing Day, with merchandise sales projected to surpass $1.3 billion.

Many retailers are offering discounts of up to 80% on their products, encouraging shoppers to take advantage of the sales. According to the Retailers Association, Boxing Day is when Australians focus on purchasing items and equipment to meet their needs.

This marks a notable increase from last year, with the average Australian expected to spend $557 during the Boxing Day sales. Clothes and electronics are anticipated to be in high demand.

Interestingly, Australians are likely to spend more on Boxing Day than on Christmas presents, attributed to the ongoing economic crisis, the Retailers Association adds.
