The Sri Lanka Navy seized a boat transporting heroin and crystal methamphetamine (ICE) in the waters off Kalpitiya last night.
A total of 63.718 kilograms of ICE and 14.802 kilograms of heroin, packed in three bags, were confiscated during the operation.
The seized drugs have been handed over to the Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) for further investigation.
The PNB is conducting inquiries to apprehend the boat’s owner, who is a resident of Kalpitiya.
