The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a proposal to gazette the draft bill prepared to amend the Social Security Contribution Levy Act No. 25 of 2022.
The draft bill was formulated by the Legal Draftsman in line with the proposals outlined in the 2026 Budget, and it has received clearance from the Attorney General.
Accordingly, the Cabinet granted approval to the resolution submitted by the President, in his capacity as Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, to publish the draft bill in the Government Gazette and subsequently present it to Parliament for approval.
