In a recent interview with the Financial Times, Microsoft founder Bill Gates accused Elon Musk of causing harm to the world’s poorest children, following Musk’s decision to cut funding for the US Agency for International Development (USAID), which is responsible for distributing foreign aid globally.
Gates criticized Musk’s actions, warning that such cuts could lead to a resurgence of deadly diseases like measles, HIV, and polio. He described the image of “the world’s richest man killing the world’s poorest children” as a disturbing one and challenged Musk to witness firsthand the impact of his decisions.
During the interview, Gates, 69, also revealed plans to give away 99% of his fortune over the next 20 years to his nonprofit foundation. Additionally, in a blog post, he announced that his foundation would cease operations by 2045. Gates expressed his commitment to ensuring that his wealth would be used to solve urgent global issues, stating, “I am determined that ‘he died rich’ will not be one of the things said about me.”
