Following India’s underwhelming Test series in Australia, the BCCI is set to implement stricter rules aimed at improving discipline and focus during tours.
The new measures include limiting players’ families, particularly spouses, to a two-week stay during a 45-day tour to maintain focus on performance.
The BCCI has also mandated that all players must travel together on the team bus to encourage unity and discourage individual travel.
In an effort to cut costs, players will be required to cover any excess luggage charges beyond 150 kg during air travel.
Tougher restrictions will also apply to head coach Gautam Gambhir and his manager, who will no longer be allowed to stay at the team hotel or travel in the VIP box.
A recent meeting between Rohit Sharma, Gautam Gambhir, and BCCI officials also discussed limiting the tenure of support staff and potential changes in the coaching staff as India prepares for future international competitions.
