Bangladesh Cricket Board President Aminul Islam has decided not to travel to Colombo to watch the India–Pakistan clash at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, reversing his earlier plans at the last minute.
BCB officials confirmed that Aminul opted to return to Dhaka from Kuwait after attending a meeting of the Asian Cricket Council, instead of proceeding to Sri Lanka for the high-profile match.
He had previously indicated that he might attend the game at the R. Premadasa Stadium, where he was expected to meet senior officials from other Asian cricket boards in an effort to ease tensions between the BCB and the Board of Control for Cricket in India.
Although he had received an official invitation from the International Cricket Council, Aminul ultimately declined, stating that since Bangladesh was not playing in the match, there was little reason for him to attend.
