Bangladesh is set to adopt the Sri Lankan model to combat and eliminate dengue, according to a press release by the Press Information Department.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare made the decision during a recent strategy meeting with key stakeholders.
As part of the new plan, dengue testing kits will be purchased through administrative budgets, and healthcare workers will receive specialized training in dengue treatment and prevention.
A coordination team—including local leaders, religious figures, NGOs, BNCC cadets, and youth volunteers—will lead awareness campaigns in communities.
Control rooms have been set up at local government levels, and mobile courts are actively supporting dengue prevention efforts in the field.
