
An awareness programme on the Electronic National Identity Card (e-NIC) process and related issues was held on 24th of January at Sri Lanka’s Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA) in Colombo.
The event, organized under the patronage of Deputy Minister of Digital Economy Eranga Weeraratne, highlighted the importance of the e-NIC project.
Key stakeholders discussed challenges and operational aspects of the initiative, aiming to find practical solutions for its implementation.
Chief Advisor to the President on Digital Economy, Dr. Hans Wijayasuriya, and ICTA Chairman Sanjaya Karunasena provided valuable insights during the programme.
The initiative reflects the government’s commitment to a digitally empowered economy, streamlining the rollout of e-NICs to benefit citizens.
