The Ministry of Defence has issued a set of guidelines related to the circular on implementing the programme to empower communities affected by disasters.
In a statement, the Ministry said the guidelines have received the concurrence of the Ministry of Finance and Planning, as well as the Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government.
Accordingly, the Secretary to the Ministry of Defence has issued these guidelines to District Secretaries and Divisional Secretaries on the distribution of disaster relief funds to affected communities.
The guidelines also outline the responsibilities of the relevant parties involved in providing disaster relief.
In addition, they include details on the allowances and relief measures to be provided to those affected.
