

Australia has claimed the top spot in a global travel ranking, with Queensland’s Noosa Heads named the world’s most welcoming destination for 2026.

The recognition is based on traveller reviews highlighting friendly locals, warm hospitality and memorable visitor experiences.
Noosa, located on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, is famous for its stunning beaches, national parks, nature experiences and relaxed coastal lifestyle.
The ranking also placed Noosa ahead of international destinations including Montepulciano in Italy, Magong in Taiwan and San Martín de los Andes in Argentina.
Other Australian locations including Montville, Margaret River, Port Campbell and Daylesford also featured among the country’s most welcoming destinations.
The result highlights Australia’s growing reputation as a friendly and attractive destination for travellers from around the world.
