Qantas has reported a half-year profit of nearly $1.4 billion for the period ending in December, driven largely by growth in the tourism sector.
The airline’s profit before tax rose by approximately 11% to $1.39 billion, marking a $140 million increase compared to the previous half-year.
For the first time since 2019, Qantas shareholders will receive dividends, with the company announcing $250 million in base dividends and an additional $150 million in special dividends.
