Australia’s giant safari park unveils luxury resort

Australia is home to the world’s largest open-range safari park—Monarto Safari Park—where elephants, lions, and endangered species roam freely across 1,500 hectares of wilderness.

Located just an hour’s drive east of Adelaide, the park features over 500 exotic and native animals, offering visitors an authentic African-style safari experience.

The park has recently expanded its offerings with the opening of Monarto Safari Resort on May 28, 2025—a luxury lodge with African-inspired hotel rooms, glamping tents, a spa, and panoramic views of the Wild Africa precinct.

Visitors can explore more than 12 km of walking trails or use the free shuttle service that loops through animal habitats and viewing platforms.

Monarto plays a vital conservation role, with over 70% of its species threatened in the wild and successful breeding programs for Tasmanian devils, bilbies, and black-flanked wallabies.

Ticket prices start at $49 for adults and $27 for children, with free entry for kids under four. Members of select Australian zoos also get in free with valid ID.

Whether you want a day trip or a wild weekend getaway, Monarto offers a unique blend of conservation, adventure, and luxury—right in South Australia.
