All arrangements have been finalized for the grand “Melbourne Surya Udanaya 2025” New Year’s Eve celebration, the largest event of its kind outside Sri Lanka, taking place today.
Organized by the Northern Victorian Sri Lankan Welfare and Cultural Association of Australia, this marks the 11th edition of the popular celebration, to be held at ANZAC Park, Craigieburn, starting at 8 a.m. on Sunday, April 13.
This year’s event promises a vibrant Street Food Carnival, cultural performances, traditional New Year rituals, and fun-filled games and competitions for all ages. Auslanka TV and Auslanka Radio, Australia’s leading Sri Lankan media network, returns as the proud media sponsor. A large crowd, including members of the Sri Lankan community, is expected to attend, with entertainment by the popular band “Mystery.”
Winners of various competitions, including traditional New Year games and the festive dinner table contest, will receive exciting prizes. A special addition this year is a raffle draw, offering air tickets to Sri Lanka as the grand prize, along with multiple consolation rewards.
