Woolworths CEO Amanda Bardwell has pledged to lower on-shelf prices for hundreds of everyday items, starting this Wednesday 14th of May.
In a message to shoppers, Bardwell said nearly 400 products—including essentials like bread, rice, flour, nappies, and family favourites such as Greek yoghurt, chicken schnitzels, and frozen berries—will see average price reductions of around 10%.
The supermarket giant confirmed that both Woolworths-branded and other popular items are included in the discount initiative.
Importantly, these reduced prices are not part of a short-term promotion but will remain in place until at least 2026.
Bardwell emphasized the aim is to provide “genuine, lasting and dependable value” on items customers buy regularly.
She noted that while individual savings may seem small, they can add up significantly, with families spending $150 per week potentially saving around $15.
The list of discounted items is expected to expand further in the coming weeks and months, according to Woolworths.
