An Australian craftsman has earned global recognition after helping create the world’s largest and smallest rideable penny-farthing bicycles.
Dan Bolwell, also known as “Penny Farthing Dan”, built both record-breaking bikes by hand in Australia.
The giant bicycle, named Big Bertha, and the tiny Little Bee were officially recognised by Guinness World Records in London.
Because of this an extraordinary creations were successfully ridden, proving they were fully functional.
Bolwell said the project took months of planning, engineering and careful construction.
He hopes the achievement will inspire more people to appreciate the history and craftsmanship of penny-farthing bicycles.
Furthermore, the unique Australian-made bikes have now secured their place in Guinness World Records history.
