Australia triumphs in historic boxing day match

Australia claimed victory in the Indo-Australia Boxing Day Test on 30th of December, capturing the attention of cricket fans both domestically and internationally. The match, which began on Boxing Day at the MCG, saw Australia win the toss and choose to bat first, scoring 474 runs in their first innings.

In response, India managed only 369 runs in their first innings. Australia then batted again, adding 234 runs in their second innings, setting a challenging target of 340 runs for India to chase.

On the final day of the match, India was able to score just 155 runs, falling short of the target. Australia’s bowlers played a key role, with Captain Pat Cummins and Scott Boland each taking three wickets to secure the win.
