Australia is set to phase out its long-used paper Incoming Passenger Card for international travellers over the next 12 to 18 months.
The new digital Australia Travel Declaration will allow passengers to submit their travel details and customs declaration online before arriving.
Travellers will no longer need to complete paper forms during their flight.
The system has already been successfully tested on selected Qantas flights, with more than 450,000 passengers using it.
The Australian Government has invested A$56.1 million to speed up border processing, reduce airport waiting times, and strengthen biosecurity checks.
Paper arrival cards will remain available on flights that have not yet switched to the new digital system until the nationwide rollout is complete.
