Australian authorities have taken steps to cancel the visa of an international student for violating work restrictions.
The student was found to have worked more than 60 hours per week for Uber, exceeding the permitted limit under Australian student visa regulations.
Upon arriving at Adelaide International Airport, the student’s mobile phone was inspected by the Australian Border Force, revealing the violation.
According to visa rules, international students can work a maximum of 48 hours in a two-week period.
The student’s nationality has not yet been disclosed, but reports indicate that he is set to be deported to his home country soon.
