Australia’s Special Envoy for Indian Ocean Affairs, Tim Watts MP, has concluded his visit to Sri Lanka, focusing on strengthening bilateral relations and regional cooperation.

During his visit, Mr Watts toured the South Asia Gateway Terminals, highlighting Sri Lanka’s important role in Indian Ocean trade and connectivity.

He discussed future cooperation between the two nations with MP S.M. Marikkar, Co-Chair of the Australia-Sri Lanka Parliamentary Friendship Association.

The discussions focused on deepening diplomatic ties, economic partnerships, and shared interests between Australia and Sri Lanka.

Mr Watts also met Pathfinder Foundation Founder Milinda Moragoda to exchange views on regional developments and security challenges.

The visit highlighted Australia’s continued commitment to a secure, stable, and prosperous Indian Ocean region.
