A new chapter in compassionate healthcare has begun in northern Sri Lanka with the opening of ARAVANAI, an end-of-life care facility in Jaffna.
Australian High Commissioner Matthew Duckworth officially opened the centre, which aims to provide patients and their families with a safe, comfortable and caring environment during the final stages of life.
The facility was made possible through the support of Australian charities Paalam – The Bridge to Humanity and Vanni Hope, strengthening cooperation between Australia and Sri Lanka.
ARAVANAI, meaning “embrace”, represents dignity, comfort and compassion for those facing some of life’s most challenging moments.
The initiative is expected to make a lasting impact on the Jaffna community by offering essential emotional and palliative care support to patients and their loved ones.
