A man believed to have been working in Australia for the past two years has been found buried beneath the floor of a factory in Gujarat’s Jamnagar district, shocking investigators.

Police allege that the victim, Jignesh Mavadiya, was murdered in May 2024 after his wife and her alleged lover poisoned him with cyanide-laced alcohol.

Authorities say the accused buried his body in a 12-foot-deep pit inside a factory before covering it with concrete to hide the crime.

For nearly two years, the victim’s family was repeatedly told that he had moved to Australia for work and could not be contacted due to workplace restrictions.

The alleged cover-up collapsed after relatives demanded his Australian contact details, leading to a police investigation and the arrest of the victim’s wife and two other suspects.

Human skeletal remains have been recovered from the site and sent for DNA testing as police continue their investigation into one of Gujarat’s most disturbing murder cases.
