Australia have been forced into a captaincy reshuffle ahead of their ODI series against Pakistan after Mitchell Marsh was ruled out with an ankle injury.
In his absence, wicketkeeper-batter Josh Inglis will lead the side in the three-match series, which begins on May 30 in Rawalpindi. Marsh, who recently scored 563 runs in 13 matches during an impressive IPL season, will remain in Perth for further assessment and treatment. Australia will also be without key fast bowlers Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc for the tour.
Following the Pakistan series, Australia will travel to Bangladesh for another white-ball series featuring both ODIs and T20Is, although Marsh’s availability for that tour remains uncertain. The Australian squad for the Pakistan ODIs includes Josh Inglis (captain), Alex Carey, Nathan Ellis, Cameron Green, Matthew Kuhnemann, Marnus Labuschagne, Riley Meredith, Oliver Peake, Matthew Renshaw, Tanveer Sangha, Liam Scott, Matt Short, Billy Stanlake and Adam Zampa.
The Pakistan ODI series will be played in Rawalpindi and Lahore from May 30 to June 4, while the Bangladesh tour will run from June 9 to June 21 in Dhaka and Chattogram, featuring three ODIs and three T20Is.
