A Horsham resident from western Victoria has become an overnight multi-millionaire, winning \$15 million in last night’s Oz Lotto draw (Draw 1642). He was one of two division one winners.
The elated father and grandfather said he had always believed he would win one day, having played the lottery for decades.
“Honestly, I always thought I was going to win. Ever since I was in my 20s, I’ve thought, ‘one day I’m going to win’. It’s just taken a while,” he told an Oz Lotto official.
With his \$15 million prize, he plans to help his children pay off their mortgages and indulge his passion for travel and motoring.
“A new car and caravan are what I want so we can do a few trips—maybe eventually do a lap around Australia,” he said.
The lucky winner bought his 18-game QuickPick ticket via The Lott website, Australia’s official lottery platform. The winning numbers for draw 1642 were 11, 32, 40, 42, 38, 29, and 34, with supplementary numbers 15, 3, and 47.
The second division one winning ticket was purchased in Queensland.
Meanwhile, more opportunities await with \$12 million up for grabs in Thursday’s Powerball and \$3 million in next Tuesday’s Oz Lotto draw.
