A tragic bus accident in Ramboda this morning (11th) has claimed the lives of 11 people, according to police reports.
The incident occurred at Gerandi Ella on the Nuwara Eliya–Gampola main road when a Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) bus traveling from Kataragama to Kurunegala via Nuwara Eliya veered off the road and plunged down a precipice.
Initial reports confirmed that the deceased included at least five men and three women, though their identities have yet to be officially established.
Approximately 25 others were injured in the crash and have been admitted to the Nuwara Eliya and Kotmale hospitals for treatment.
