Bali, voted Asia’s most beautiful island, is targeting 17 million tourist arrivals in 2025, including 6.5 million international visitors, according to Tjok Bagus Pemayun, head of the provincial Tourism Office.
He emphasized that this target is achievable, given that foreign arrivals in 2024 reached around 6.3 million. Additionally, the goal for domestic tourism is set at 10.5 million.
However, challenges such as congestion, waste management, and land use conversion remain concerns for handling foreign arrivals in 2025.
To address these, provincial authorities plan to enhance law enforcement while acting as both regulators and facilitators, seeking support from tourism stakeholders.
To draw foreign tourists, the Bali Tourism Office has introduced the 2025 Calendar of Events, which includes 54 events, with 45 focusing on cultural highlights such as the ogoh-ogoh parade in March and the Bali International Air Show in September.
In October, Bali was named Asia’s most beautiful island by readers of Condé Nast Traveler in its prestigious Readers’ Choice Awards.
