Army returns 40 acres of land to civilian owners in Jaffna

A total of 40.70 acres of land, divided into three plots, was officially returned to civilian owners during a Land Releasing Programme held at the Jaffna District Secretariat.

The initiative was carried out under the directives of Army Commander Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo, following comprehensive tactical and technical assessments.

Present at the event were Jaffna District Secretary M. Pradeepan and Security Forces – Jaffna Commander Major General Y.A.B.M. Yahampath, according to the Ministry of Defence.

The Army stated that the handover was in response to longstanding requests from affected landowners and was conducted transparently and in line with proper procedures.
